National Museum of Korean Contemporary History(3F)
02-04-2025~15-06-2025
Performing arts have been an integral part of human history since the very beginning. Through music, dance, and theatrical performances, people have expressed themselves, connected with others, and sought deeper meaning in life.Over the centuries, performing arts have undergone countless transformations.
Yet one thing has remained constant—its ability to evolve with the times. Whether through newly created works or traditions passed down through generations, the cultural and social influences of each era naturally find their way into performances. In Korea, this evolution accelerated dramatically in the 20th century with the advent of modernization. This exhibition explores how Korean performing arts have reflected and responded to the changing times since then and how stagecraft has shaped these artistic ex-pressions. From vintage playbills to intricately crafted stage props, a rich collection of artifacts invites you to experience the dynamic world of Korean performing arts.
